Neck or Ankle?

Military boots are my favorite shoes to wear when hiking in the mountains. The image and color of military supplies represent bravery, neutrality, and toughness. I extracted the collar line of the military uniform as my key design element. The hardy material of the military collar can highlight the neckline and shoulder line of women. I realized that the shape of the ankle is similar to the neck. They are both an elegant and beautiful part of a woman’s body.

The hollowed-out heel is the main design feature, combining elements of a sandal with the structure of a combat boot. By incorporating the open heel of a sandal, I aimed to enhance the boot's lightweight feel.

I personally love the combination of military green with a bright yellow toe cap. The contrast in brightness and intensity brings a vivid visual appeal, while also adding a lush, vibrant feel that reminds me of the year-round greenery and vitality of my homeland, Taiwan.

I used leather paint to apply camouflage patterns onto the shoes, aiming to bring natural tones to the soles. This not only reflects a connection to nature but also incorporates conceptual details into the often-overlooked underside of the shoes.
